Any of you guys have special hotrod or truck projects?

Do any of you guys have any special projects that you work on when you have time? My time any money pretty much goes to my race car now days. Just got tired of spending money on my diesel so here are a few pics of my race car. If you guys have any special projects post them up!

My project is an 85 mustang with a 5.3 liter engine out of an 05 Chevy truck. Its mated to a TH350 transmission with a 5500 rpm stall converter.

I just have the project I drive everyday, which cuts down on what I can do for projects.

Nah. Dirty's engine has a bad piston.... Thats all about to be history when I have time to get it up to our engine builder and the heads to the port shop....say in the next week or so. New crank with a little longer reach on it and a little bigger and stronger set of pistons are goin in if ya know what I mean.

Those LS engines are something else. I guess you can tell by my user name. lol I've had several LS powered rides and spent about 7 years custom tuning them. My funest one was a 2000 ecsb silvy with ported, polished, and milled heads, lingenfelter GT1 cam, 4000 yank convertor, 4.10's, detroit locker, and a 225hp dry shot. The bottom end was bone stock with 75,000 miles and I shifted at 7300rpms. It dynoed 482whp/475wtq all motor. It would spin the tired on the dyno with spray. It was fun. Its still on the fastest truck list on performancetrucks.net. In 2002 it was the 7th fastest LS powered truck in the nation but fell way back fast when guys started turbo charging them.

Theres a guy here in town, buddy of mine and SO5.9s. He has an 05 qcsb that he blew up the 5.3 in, so dropped in a 6.0 lq9 block, has custom tuning, just got a new cam (have to check on what he got), a yank converter with a built tranny, and a 150 shot. Its pretty quick, and I haven't even been in since the bottle and cam.

Bottle helped ALOT!! You should def take a ride but make sure he has his bottle pressure up. The cam is just a good midsize unit. I wont give out all the details, Ill let him.

I have a 49 M farmall pulling tractor. It is a turbo gasser turning 4400RPM at 25psi making around 400-450HP....it sheared the flywheel bolts or snapped the crank hub last time I ran it so it is down.

Next is an 83 S-10 with a 410cid turbo gasser. Engine has all the goodies with TV71 garrett turbo and custom built, by yours truely, EFI controller and cobbled up Edlebrock proflo. Tranny is th350 with 3200 RPM stall running thru a 9" ford. Bed will lift off with removable panels and fenders are opened up for the tires...also has a one off cowl hood I built to clear the turbo and bonnet. It is bright saphire with red and blue ghost flames. I probably spent 200+ hours on the body of this truck....still not perfect, but pretty nice. It is a handfull when it runs but has been down for a couple years due to loss of torque on head studs and rusted cylinders due to coolant leaks. Got that fixed and the computer died on me so I sent it to a guy to fix for me cause I just did not have the time. Got it back and have not put it back on yet. It was a 3 year project from the ground up and I just got burned out, so it is on hold. The truck is for sale for 16.5K complete(of course I would get the computer back on) or 10k minus engine.

I also have a 57 chevy truck with sb400/th450, on a late model chassis. I built it in highschool, but have not driven it in a long time. I am going over to get it running again tomorrow.

I drive my 87 cummins conversion daily and use it for towing the other toys around..... and thank goodness it has most of the bugs worked out by now.

I used to tinker all the time on this stuff. Running a business and having a family now makes the toys take a back seat. I still tinker everyone once in a while, but we moved recently and I have a shop to finish and fences to build so project will sit for this year most likely.
