Tread wear issue

My searching didn't really give me a good answer. Actually just more questions

My right front tire is showing signs of wear towards the outer side. I first noticed this at my last tire rotation. All 3 other tires had very even wear (within a 32nd of inch from inner to outer) So now after my rotation the front right tire is wearing to the outer side again. I jacked up the front and grabbed the tire at 12 and 6 and have only about 1/8" max movement. I checked the driver side and it has the same movement but even tire wear. The truck tracks very straight on the highway. Do I have an alignment, ball joints, or unit bearing issue??

Could be ANY of the above--front end parts wear out FAST on these trucks. To inspect further, you need to have a freind turn the steering wheel while it is on the ground and not running. As (s)he turns the wheel back and forth, look CLOSELY underneath the truck for ANY play in ANY of the actual linkage parts that are moving...if there IS play, that linkage is worn. After, you can jack one wheel at a time, and check for play in the unit bearings and balljoints by rocking the tire again at BOTH 12/6 and 9/3. Also spin it and listen/feel for rougness or noise in the bearing. Also lever the balljoints at the knuckle to check for play. You may find MORE then one issue by checking all of the above. If it all checks out, then it is likely a simple alignment issue, but I'd be surprised it there are NO worn parts unless somehow you have put less then 35k on your 2006...lol.

Could be nothing more than the right side having slightly more toe-in to offset the crown in the road.

If the wear is fairly even, without cupping, then it's an alignment issue.

You should be able to find a shop in El Paso that specializes in 4WD truck alignments. Spend the bux and go there.

Thanks for the replies!

seafish... I'll do some closer inspection. Thanks

shorts.........

.boB... Yes it is very even. I checked in 5 different places from inside out and got the same decreasing numbers across the width.

I'm hoping for just alignment. I have 125k on it and it feels very solid while driving. The first set of tires (factory) lasted about 80k and had very even wear. My rotations have been very regular with these tires too and always even wear until now.
