I'll stay out of this for the most part, im no heavy weight never cleared 40k but I might incriminate myself and get called and idiot all at once if i claim some of the loads i have moved. Ill just say that i used to have a 24' goose tandemn dual and a 12 tandemn ball hitch behind that amazing what you can fit.

OK im hijacking but How about weirdest spot.
This picture doesnt do the spot much justice, chains on all 4 corners, a load in the bed and 1st Low range, almost barried to keep it running, slick and steep enough that you couldnt stand easily without going down hill on your gludius maximus. i would love to post the one looking down the hill and the creek bed that i had to go through to get around a wash out just cant find it.

It had to be done, The dude was willing to pay big bucks to rescue his car(POS) which was stolen and located by teh law and stashed up in these hills, we made the trip to go get it and it snowed the night that we got there , the car had to come off the hill though otherwise the crooks would probably come back and part it out, the otherway out was way too narrow, probably would have lost the truck if trailer slid off the road so i took it over the moutain.
Thats up in reno here is the picture looking down hill. If you look at my tracks in 1st picture youll see i came off of the road bank. That was because of the Cheerokee which you see stuck in a rut wash. too deap for me to pull the trailer through so i went up the creek and through the trees then up the hill

Yesterday I Loaded up a 750K btu line heater, reboiler, 20X18 tower, stack. 2 seperators, 2 pallets of fittings and valves, 3" meter rubn on skid, and a bundle of pipe weighing around 4,700 llbs. It took us all of about 2 hours to get it all loaded and strapped. Well when I left and got up on the free way I noticed whe was really pulling hard so at the split I went over to the Navigation truck stop. Pulled up on the scale and walked inside. 37,120lbs. I said on crud. Called my customer and told him.
Customer said "Well yo want to run with it?"
I said "I can make it, but if I get pulled over and weighed, I will probobly get red tagged and we will have to get a pole truck and another mini float to unload some of this equipment on the side of the raod. A pole truck is about $120/hr plus mileage."
Customer said "Call me another truck so we can unload some of the equipment."
It does not matter if your a commercial truck or not, the MAN can pull any of us over, and if he see it to be unsafe - your pretty much stuck there until he sees fit.
Gross weight rating are for all of us to follow - just us commercial guys and our deady child killing trucks are focused on more than any other.

ddestruel , you da man. I had to tow a buddies toyota out of monitor pass (89) in the winter, with my '69 powerwagon. Had all four chained and prayed a u-joint or axle didn't break.
The Dodge brothers always did make fine trucks.
"JOB RATED" I think the old ads said

I just talked with a budy at work, he has a 2000, 2500 QC LB 4X4, pretty much stock. He claims he helped a big rig out like this:
The tractor and trailer were at the bottom of a short 6% hill. The tractor ran out of fuel and had since been filled, but couldnt get it primed on the grade. Since the engine wouldnt run, he didnt have air to unlock his tires. So my buddy clamis they unhooked the tractor and he pulled the tractor UP the hill, with locked rear tires. 4 Low, grunting like a toddler with a load. Opinions?
