What's a good cold weather bumper pull for a 1/2 ton truck?

Need help, I've taken a job in the oil fields of North Dakota and had a trailer located near my job. The seller couldn't hold it 3 days (Monday 7-11-11) and it sold yesterday.

So I'm in Arkansas needing to buy a 5,000 lb. or so bumper pull that can deal with winter in northwest ND quick, plenty for sale here but they're not really suited to the North County.

Any help is truly appricated.

Gotta be a bumper pull, my Dodge 1500 has the 5'7" bed.

Also, rather than drag it all the way from Arkansas, I'm considering trying to buy something on the way, say Omaha. Any advise here is also welcome.

ARCTIC FOX is the generally recommended brand (see also NASH).

Go and get a REESE Dual Cam weight-distributing hitch setup with anti-sway, now.

Go to RV.net and read up on cold weather camping.

Removal of interior moisture is a huge problem, as is keeping exterior water supply lines and sewer lines serviceable.

See also "trailer skirting".

Here are some articles by M.D. Creekmore.

Work for a small contractor, no lodging, or camp space provided. Each man is on his own.

Hope you find something decent. Make notes for the next one, too. Good luck.

They make a slider 5th wheel hitch for these short beds. I have one and really don't need to slide it back unless I am gettin close to 90 degress while backing.

I worked in Williston, ND for quite awhile. There were several small trailers for sell around town. The winters up there can be brutal! I did field service on the rigs, SCR's, VFD's, Generator controls, ect.

You will also need XM radio to stay sane. The only station i could get in most of the time was stupid indian drums, all day every day. haha
