Your TJ weighs 4000lbs, MAX. car hauler will weigh around 2k... What spares are you carrying?

Most of the guys I wheel with tow with SRW's, even the fullsize guys that weigh up to 6000lbs... no WD hitches used.

Don't sweat it...

Trailers - my business partner has his TJ, and his wife's mild XJ, they are going with a 32' goose, which is plenty, even with his mini-stinger on the front of the TJ.. Just my $.02

BTW - your t-case... if you've already got a D300 with the LoMax gears, just get the 32 spline upgrades, and viola - there's your Atlas.

I have the only trailer in my little crew, so I wind up carrying everyone's spare tires, ice chests, camping stuff, etc....

Don't get me started on the D300....

I have had nothing but problems with it since day one. The rear will pop out of gear when going downhill in LO, I had to do a flip kit to get it in a TJ, and it leaks between the T/C and Tranny, etc....

I'm ready to dump it for the gears and the 32 spline rear output I already have in it and just do an atlas. At least if I have problems with that someone will warranty it for a while!

When I was running a Dana 300 I never had any problems with it but I did have the original short shaft rear output but never messed with twin sticks or had to fuss with flipping it.........had to scrap it in the end when the BBC went in because it just wasn't going to be up for the torque increase.........I considered the Atlas but at almost $5000 to my door(CDN) and only one ultra low range that is too low for 50% of the wheeling I do, I couldn't justify it..........I am REALLY happy with my 203/205 set up.......I get 32 spline inputs and outputs, huge gears, bearings and counter shafts and 2:1 and 4:1 selectable low ranges all with factory parts other than the Offroad Designs adaptor........all for $1000 CDN and this is the most bomb proof t-case set up you can get........only problem is that it doesn't fit in a stock Jeep .............

Just a note: check for any fractures in the stock hitch receiver underneath where the welds are. Some people have had problems there with the stock setup. Just to be safe, don't want you to lose anything.
