Who says you need a dually and 4x4 to pull a 44' ball hitch trailer through the snow covered passes of the rockies???

That was a pretty light trailer for it's size. That trailer only had a 1000lb tougne weight. I have never had a problem with 2wd on packed snow or slush with a trailer. 4wd would have been nice for about 100 miles out of my last 100,000 but I would rather just pull off if there is ice on the road, even with 4wd.

The only law that applies would be the one requiring traction tires or 4x4 on cars during bad conditions, but if you are over 10000gvw you need chains- If chains are needed, then I am off the road. I had to pull off for about 2hrs this winter while snoqualamie pass was under the chain rule for 10000+. Other than that, I was pretty lucky(clear roads).
