overloads

Gravel yards or really wet top soil you will be over loaded thin. No really you can do a search and fined all kind of springs for help with hauling heavy lodes. Check out camper supply's /camper dealers first.

Do you have any overloads on your truck now? if not you will need the brackets to install in the frame for the overloads to contact. Check at Junk yards for wrecked 1 tons and buy the whole spring pack and stops(?not sure of correct name here?), I'm assuming that they are bolted and not welded to the frame, anyone....?

You maybe ought to look at Timbren load boosters. I have sold tons of these and all my customers love them.

The Ebay price is a good price. I normally sell that kit for $199 plus tax. For 3500 or extra heavy kits the cost is more. You can call Timbren and get them direct.

Timbrens are top notch. I use them in my 3500 pulling a 15,000 lb 5ver with over 3000lb pin weight, truck rides like a caddy and no snap back like with the air bags I used previously.

I agree. I have had airbags, but I prefer Timbrens over airbags any day. Easier to install, no maintenence, and we load our trucks extremely heavy.

So are the Timbrens just a rubber spring?

They are pear shaped rubber or neoprene. The compress a certain amount based on load applied. The beauty of them is when traveling they allow movement up and down for cushioning but don't snap or bounce back like air bags. I've used both on my one ton and will never do airbags again. BUT you need to make sure you factory suspension isn't sagging. Timbrens replace your factory overload stops. They are designed to sit about 3/4" to 1" above the factory overload perch, this way factory unloaded ride is completely stock. If your suspension is old or sagging then they may touch the perch which will give a harder ride. You need to check your truck before install. Hope this helps.

I agree with the airbags, had them didn't like them to much sway for camper. Just for lift purposes they are fine.

I have a 3500 dually so I got the 3500 timbren kit. Gave me the lift I wanted but a bit to much. I'm barely on my over loads whitch make it a little rockier with the camper. I should have gotton the 2500 kit. More weight on the over loads is better for sway control then airbags or timbrens, IMO... So now I need to find some bigger bump stops for my over loads.

Rod,
call timbren directly and tell them what you are pulling and how much load you have and that the load springs you have aren't working well, and they will send you the correct load spring. They are very good to deal with.

I had Timbrens on the back of my Titan and loved them. If I ever need to I'll put them on my 3500 also.
