Weight ? (probably already been asked)
I have a 38' toyhauler that weighs 11,800 dry. I am looking at a dodge 3500qc swb 4x4. The tow weights on the dodge are lower than Ford or Gm. Will this be to much weight for a single wheel truck. I'm looking a 3.73 gears, still deciding on trans... Just wondering if some of you towed this much with a single rear wheel. I really don't want a dually, but I might have to get one. Any info would be galdly appreciated.
Thanks
Kent

This has been discussed and will likely result in a 4 page thread telling you that you would certainly be best off with a dually.

That is a similar discussion right there... Granted, you have a 5th wheel, but you also have a longer trailer.
I too would recommend a dually. a single could certainly pull it, but it would be overloaded and unstable. You will feel much more comfortable and you will be much safer pulling this with a dually. Also, the longer wheel base will also help it feel more stable on the road.

Go to this web site to see the towing capacities for the Dodge Trucks.
Generally a 2500 cummins with a 4 speed auto 4x4 will tow 13,000lbs or 20,000lbs combined (truck and trailer together)
3500 dually, 13,400lbs with 4 speed auto 4x4 combined 23,000lbs.

I think you'll find the ford about the same unless you go with the 4:30 rear in the 350.
