The cheapest I have found GelGloss is at Home Depot. They keep it in the plumbing fixture area by the fibreglass tubs/showers. It is in a purple can. Great stuff for tough stains.

Another source for tri-sodium phosphate is to go into your wife's laundry room and steal her box of Tide. We use it to clean A/C water piping to get cutting oil out of pipe before we commission the pumps and piping system. It removes oil, dirt and leaves your trailer with that spring fresh clean smell that your work shirts come out of the washing machine with. Just mix in a bucket with water and scrub away, then rinse.

The clothes pin trick,

If your trailer has gutters with "downspouts" clip one spring clothespin to each downspout. The water will travel out to end of the pin (farther away from the trailer) and drop to the ground. Be advised you will lose clothes pins, but their a buck for 50 or so, and it works.

Where do you get the Gel-Gloss from??? I need to also clean my 5er and I'm looking for some good stuff to remove the black streaks but I don't want to damage the fiberglass finish.

Available from Home depot in small cans. My RV dealer gets it for me in gallon jugs.

I also use Mirage2000 for the black streaks. Works wonders. My RV dealer uses it for all trailer cleaning before delivery.


May only be available in eastern Canada.

I had always used auto washing soap to clean the RV and could never get all the black streaks off till I read all the suggestions in these posts. I picked up a gallon of Simple Green at Home Depot on Saturday on the way home from work. Getting ready for an outing next weekend I washed the fifth-wheel yesterday using a mix of about 1 to 3 (Simple Green to water.) All but the most stubborn strains came off with just a brush. I used it straight with a washing mitt to get the tough ones off. The stuff works great.

For those within driving distance the outing is to Minter Field north of Bakersfield, CA, for the Warbirds in Action Airshow, featuring aircraft used in the Pacific battles. The show is Saturday only, 10:00 to 3:00.
