we all have tekonsha voyagers and have good luck with them, they arent so small tho, they have to be mounted at a certain angle tho, not something you can just stick in the ash tray loosely

Generally, I think you will hear that the three best (in order) are the Brakesmart, the Jordan Ultima, and the Technocia Prodegy.

The Brakesmart uses a solid state fluid pressure sensor that doesn't displace fluid so it works with anti-lock and proportioning valve systems but it's not small, and its expensive. The Jordan uses a linkage to measure movement of the brake pedal, and they are less expensive than the brakesmart and said to be much smoother than any of the deceleration sensing controllers. The Prodegy is generally considered the best among the deceleration proportional type...

Stay away from any of the timer based controllers.

I have gone throw several through the years and the only one that I have found that will go the distance is the tekonsha brand. You can go from mild to wild on which style you want but in general they make an awsome product!

Prodigy hands down. I installed mine just to the left of the ash tray at about 45* angle. Works great.

I would say any tekonsha product. They actually stand behind their product 100%. I'm sold on them forever!

Yeap they are awsome! Even the people that sell their products are very nice as well. I will never use anything else!

That is exactly where mine is also. It's like that slot was made to hold the Prodigy.. Nice and snug and right where you can see it and reach it. No more knee whacking either!

That's the same place I put mine, but it's in there a little further...

As for the informative link, just use the search button and you will find them all! I'll try and post the link again. There are 427 threads that come up when you search for "+best +brake +controller"...

I just got my Brakesmart in today. I will try to install it in the next couple of days and post the results. It is the cats meow of brake controllers but it's a bit pricey. Can't wait.
