Trailer dry weight estimate?
#16
This would be only for occasional use. Mostly pulling my tractor from one place to another (less than 15 miles apart, with only two hills and neither is that big). I also want to be able to pull a car or truck every once in a while or whatever I may need hauled. The only reason I am looking at it is the price. I would prefer a 20-22 ft flat bed/car hauler style trailer with 2 6k axles.

Thats an excellent price for that trailer. My personal hangup would be the pintle hook. I've towed with them and they beat you to death. I used a trailer from work one time, think it was 18' single wheel with a 14k capacity and hauled an old farmall 300 back from Georgia. It was a ball hitch and it did alright. It did have quite a bit of weight on the back of the truck. I'll try and recall the numbers cause I scaled without the tractor and with.
I believe empty I was pushing 11k with the truck, trailer and two kids and our cooler. When I loaded the tractor and ran through the cat scales it was around 17,500k maybe a bit higher but less than 18K. My rear axle was still less than max, I think it may have been 5200+/- or so. The front end got lighter for obvious reasons. We toted it back from south of Albany, Ga to north of Nashville, Tn and it rode nice without any problems as far as sway or extreme nervousness. Even did the 6% grade up Mont Eagle well.
As far as the weight goes, the trailer I hauled. My truck usually weighed in around 6500lbs and with the rented trailer it was around 11k, so roughly 4500lb trailer weight. I'm guessing that one your showing would be in the 5500 and up range.
Heck of a steal though, maybe you could convert it to a gooseneck??
