Towing trailer to Oklahoma what do we do?
We are going to be camping in AZ seeing some family. On our way back to Iowa we are giong to stay in OK. Probably near Tulsa or Oklahoma City because of the aquarium and zoo. What should we add to our list anyone?

If Okc, then the Cowboy Hall of Fame,Firefighters Hall of Fame, the Zoo is great it is ranked up there nationaly. The Bombing memorial is something to experience. New Bass Pro Shop and Refurbished Old Bricktown,Toby Keith Bar and Grill and lots more down there, river walk, theaters. Sounds like I am a tourist guide?? They really have put some money into the down town and it is getting noticed. There is also a great KOA camp out east on I40 at the Choctaw Road exit that is safe and quiet and just 5 min to all that I mentioned. Goodluck,,Rick

The Cabela's in KC on your way back would be fun too, but if you're going to do it in one day, you'll probably be better off to just blow through KC. I stay right on I-35 going through there, if you hit it at not-rush hour it's not bad even with a trailer. Just get the Mrs. practiced up on spotting the other side for you. If you can hold out, diesel is alot cheaper in MO than it is in KS. For sure don't buy it at the "captive" places on the toll portion of 35, highest prices between Marshalltown IA and Waynoka, OK without fail.

Tolls are based on axles... Not cheap with a trailer.
There is also a BRAND new (few months) Bass Pro Shops in Tulsa, that I prefer to the one in OKC. I have heard some pretty good things about the aquarium here in Tulsa, but haven't been myself.

$1.25 or so for the truck, then another $.50 to $.75 per axle. Or atleast for the Muskogee turnpike. There are plenty of ways around the toll roads, but it farther and usually slower. I like that 75 mph speed limit that you can usually cruise at 80 to 85 on.

The Bombing Memorial is a must see...the Will Rodgers Museum and Cowboy Hall of Fame are neat and close to the highway. I like the restaurants in the Bricktown area.
I travel down there every chance I get to visit family there. I am from up the KS turnpike. Dont count on doing 75 or better pulling a trailer north from Wichita to Emporia, unless you want very high egt's and realy low mpg's....that area has its ups and downs....
Get fuel before you leave OKC, its aways before you hit anotehr diesel station, I usualy stop at the Love's at the north edge of town by the Cracker Barrell, cant remember if its 129 or 139th street...

I personally like the Bricktown Brewery a lot. Good food and really good beer.

If you are going to wind up going from Tulsa NE heading home, go through Springfield and stop at Bass Pro Shops Wildlife and Natural History Museum.
Plan on spending at least 3-4 hours or a whole day to go through it. Its all indoors, and has to be one of the best wildlife displays I think I have ever seen, particularly if you like aquariums.......
The Museum Of Taxidermy is also a fantastic display, located next door to the Wildlife Museum.........
