Tire pressures for towing

Re:Tire pressures for towing
The only tires that did not get good mileage for me was a set on the front that bending to advise I lowered to 65 pounds for a few thousand miles. Took to outside edges off the tires and never could recover them. These trucks should be getting over 60,000 on a set of good tires, if not there is something wrong. I get better than that towing my weights.

Re:Tire pressures for towing
If you read the Door placard on 4x4 trucks it states Load Range 'E'. So for those of you running Load Range 'D'; you are asking for trouble if you are involved in an accident. You are running under rated tires for the weight of these trucks. As for inflation pressures: The government passed a new law in 2002 that says that manufacturers must provide tire inflation supplement guides in the vehicles they are producing. My 2002, 2500 4x4 has a complete manual from Michelin that says what the pressures should be at any given weight condition.

Tim
