Superchip D-box and towing.

I'm towing a 12-13,000 lb. fifth wheel with my truck. It has the above mentioned Superchips D-box, K&N air filter, and 4" MBRP turbo back exhaust. It pulls super, I can put it in 6th, set the cruise at 64 mph and it doesn't have any problems with any hills. I bought it used with about 60,000 miles on it and it had recently had the injector pump replaced so I should be good there. No gauges.

I'm pretty sure I'm okay with this setup but a little positive reinforcement would sure be appreciated. I really don't want to hurt anything but I also don't want to take off the D-box, the extra hp really helps. My GCWR is over the spec for the 6 sp at 21,000 lbs. but the GVWR is right at 10,000 lbs. Any problems with this setup?

This is a great board and I've learned a lot from you guys. I just put on a set of Bilstiens Saturday and I thought the fronts were easier than the rears.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have the D-Box (have a Superchip tuner). I don't see an EGT gauge ?
I would suggest one - it is amazing how fast EGT temps climb on even modest acceleration (especially on cruise control). Also, you need to make sure and let your turbo cool before shut off. I have a "spare" key in the ignition - I can let the truck idle down while I refuel, or whatever, as I can lock the truck and leave it running. I have pics of my EGT gauge in my gallery.

The truck didn't have a pyrometer when I bought it but I'm leaning really hard toward getting one. The problem of high EGT's is a real concern. Thanks for the input.

The Superchips D-box is a rebadged Edge EZ. I have one, and don't pull as heavy as you, and I can get the EGTs too high on long grades. You NEED a pyrometer.
