Summit Trailers

Searched the acrchives with no joy, so I'd like to ask opinions of the Thor Summit travel trailers. I'm looking real hard at the 26RLS. I'll be retiring in a couple of months and will use this as a movable home base - north in the summer and south in winter. Floor plan in this'n is great.

Also, buying used can save several thousand $$, but I'm concerned about buying someone else's problems. Then I read on this forum about problems getting warranty assistance from some brand's dealers. Whaddaya think ?? Thanks Lar.

I can't say about that trailer but here is something I would do.

I'd look at the primary areas you plan on traveling. Go to their web site and look for a dealer near those locations or on your route. A larger dealer network can be a plus.

I'm sure the mechanics are the same as everybody elses so your fridge, stove, toilet won't be an issue. See if Camping World is authorized to repair them. Ask about their policy if the trailer has a problem and you have to go to dealer X for repairs. How do you get your $$$ back or do they authorize repairs to the location fixing your problem.

How long is the warranty on the roof, structure, and chassis.

How long have they been in business?

These are questions I'd ask of any RV before I'd buy new or used.

Good luck
