Sliding Goose hitch

This might be a stupid question, but has/does anyone know of a sliding gooseneck hitch? Maybe something that can be adapted to the slide rails of a sliding 5th? Having a short box and friends with gooseneck trailers I was just wondering.

With nearly any kind of tapered nose, you don't need one as long as you're not jacknifing the trailer more than 90*. It may be an issue with a 7 or 8' bullnose however.

Now to answer your question......sorry, never heard of anything like that.

I know of no sliding gooseneck adaptor, but have seen a couple of sliding 5th wheel pin boxes with goose adaptors & there also sliding 5th wheels that have a gooseneck ball adaptor. It seems to me it would be easy to design one, but then again it would not be D.O.T. approved which might cause you some problems.

Thanks guys for the inputs.
PTGarcia, the Rail Rider looks interesting. Do you have any experience with it or know some who has?

No, I don't, but I came very close to buying one. The only reason I didn't was because the only place I could find it was through my local RV Dealer, Giant RV, and I felt I was getting over-charged if I bought through them. For the full RV setup, which includes gooseneck hitch and rail rider 5th wheel hitch was about $1600. I ended up forgetting about the slide and went with the B&W Turnoverball. If I had the money I would have tried it, though. It really looks like a high quality unit.
