RV trip- Houston to Orlado-Where to stay?
We are headed to Fla for a visit. We are retired and not in a hurry. We belong to Escapees and will stay at those locations in route, where available. Our rig is 5th wheel ,30 amp, 31'.
We plan to cover about 200 mi. per day. We are looking for reasonably priced RV parks en route. We plan to stay 2 nites or more, if there are interesting things to see nearby.
Obviously I10 to I 75 is the primary route, but reasobable detours are in the cards for the right places.
Your recommendations?
State Parks are also to be considered.

Corps of Engineers projects usually have a Corps campground nearby. They've upgraded most of the camp sites to electric as part of the current make-work campaign. If you're over 62, you can get a National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands Senior Pass. That put an electric Corps site at $13 a night last year.
There's a web site to find the different federal camping opportunities, and also an online reservation system. Often if you show up Sunday (or holiday) to Wednesday, there'll be something without a reservation. They hold some sites for walk in only, no reservation. Weekends are usually jammed if the location is good, ie good fishing water nearby.

When you get into Florida, there is a PPA in Holt, Florida. Last time I stayed there it was 10 bucks a night. Go south from the Holt Fl exit. When the road ends you are there. Its on a river. Can go fishing if you want.
There are alot of CG along I-10 from there to Orlando. There is a couple outside of Tallahassee, (200 miles from Holt) and Lake City off 10.
In Mississippi of I-10 take 49 north. Turn right at the first light, go between the two shopping centers and turn left at the light. Campground on the right. Can't remember its name. Its also a PPA. Last time I stayed was 11 bucks. Concrete Pads.
