RV power converter question

RV power converter question
I recently started having trouble with the 12v lights inside my RV. A couple of times a day they will ALL go off. In 15 or 20 minutes, I will hear a click coming from the power converter and they will come back on. None of the 110v system is affected, only the 12v. Is there something in the converter I can replace or will I have to replace the whole thing?

may be the thermal circuit breaker kicking off and reseting.
1. do you have all the lights and stuff on? may be overloaded
2, is the converter getting air, can't block them off,
some have a fan when they get hot, ? is it working,
or maybe its getting old and tired,
need to know if you are exceeding the design dc current,
if not may be the thermal cb is going bad,
hope all applies to your unit...

The first thing I would check is your battery. Even if your converter shuts down, you should have lights if you have a battery. My guess is you have a shorted battery, the converter shuts down due to overload trying to charge it, and the lights go off due to no battery.
