Roadtrip OR to FL

Roadtrip OR to FL
Well things come up and now I have to move from OR back to FL. It will prolly take me 3 trips. The house hold goods, and the toy cars we have. I'm looking at getting my trailer converted to a gooseneck hitch. Its a 33' bumper pull, and needing to get at least a 2 car hauler. Don't think the 2500 will "safely" pull a 4 car hauler. Main thing I'm asking is any good routes to go from here to there? Hillsboro, Or to Tampa, FL? I got the route from mapquest, but looking for insight from any crosscountry trips anyone here already made. Looking for the least amount of mountains. I'll prolly be making the 1st trip towards the end of June. Its also going to be a part vacation trip also. The wife is flying back early to find work, I'm finishing up my term here and will make the last trip in Sept. Also she wont let me make a trip like this without at least making 1 trip with me. She worries. Maybe because I drove 24hrs straight from OR to AZ one day pulling our trailer???? Well thanks for any input. Good thing I love roadtrips!

I just left Southern Oregon two weeks ago. I'm at home in Ohio now, but we have a small ranch in Arizona so I went straight down 5, across 58 to 40, then up 44 to 70, then 71 home.
If I were going to Florida I would still come across 40 all the way into Memphis and then decide from there. You may want to go into Nashville and then down 75, but it takes you back North a little. From Memphis you could go 55 to 10 and into Florida via Pensacola. You could also drop off 40 onto 35 into DFW and then run 20 to 55 to 10 into Florida.
It's really up to you. The mountains are going to be unavoidable coming out of the west. I pulled 23.5K into Flagstaff in pounding rain with no sweat.
Do you have to make the move yourself? By the time you are done with your three trips you'll accumulate over 18,000 miles. It may be cheaper to hire the HHG movers. If you get lucky and average 14mpg with your load you'll spend almost $3000 in fuel alone.
Whatever you do, don't rush!!! I've made a few round trips and it can get rough if you get in a hurry. Safety need no luck. Take your time and enjoy the trip(s)!

I just did that trip from So. Calif on the I-10. Missed all the weather. I am still in Fl. Although not necessarily the shortest way, it seems a run down I-5 to the I-10 and over to Fl. would be a good way to miss the bad weather. Don't think you would like towing anything in the ice or snow.
Just my .02,

When I was in AZ I did that drive to FL a bunch also. About 4 times or so. I hate driving in CA. and vowed not to set foot in there again unless abosolutely necessary, but dangit I guess ca would be better than getting the truck and trailer shiny side down! I'll have to keep an eye on the weather too now. Forgot that that part of the country gets real bad weather.

Best route that I can think of is I 84 to I 80 to I 25 to Raton NM US 87 to Dumas TX Then pick up US 287 into Dallas /FT Worth at this point pick up I 20 into Jackson MS Then take US 49 though Hattiesburg MS Into Mobile AL from there pick up I 10 into FL.
There are only a couple of hard grades most can be pulled in high gear or at lest in 5th.
Also if you are looking for someone to make on of the runs for you, the wife and I are looking to take a trip and can be bought fairly cheap.

If you post the cities, I will run the co-pilot program and I think a can e-mail the route, set up for RV's.
