Road Trip - New Orleans to Boca Raton

I am going to have my first tow coming up in a week and a half. A friend of mine purchased a boat out of Boca Raton and I said I'd drive him to pick it up. My question is: what should I look out for on the way? I know the hurricane knocked out a portion of a bridge on I-10 somewhere around Pensacola, is there a detour? Also, good stuff to do in Boca Raton? I know it's a retirement community (or at least Seinfeld has taught me this) so I am just looking for a heads up on anything I need to know. Thanks in advance.

All I know about Boca is from Morty and Mrs. Seinfeld too. See the one where Jerry bought him the car?
That was when Tevelvison sitcoms had to have substance. Good luck in Boca, never been there, sure it's full of snowbird though.

stay off i - 4 at all costs. if it were me coming from your side of the woods i would take I-10 to 275s across aligator ally and in to boca. this way will have far less traffic then going down I95.

Help us out that live in Fl and take the Fl Turnpike,it's the most direct route and runs off I-75 south of Ocala. The traffic is not heavy compared to I-75 around Tampa.Your paid toll will aid in keeping the cost of the toll down. There is an exit into Boca from the turnpike.

i have really never run in to traffic on 75 around tampa that bad. i forget about the turnpike though. my guess is it would be 6 of one 1/2 dozen of another.

thanks, that's what i needed to know. i was looking at taking the turnpike, but i might try the other way on the way there through alligator ally, and the turnpike on the way back.
