Question Putnam XDR class V Hitch

I've been concerned about the warnings of problems with OE hitch and am looking to upgrade. On e-bay, an outfit in Missouri advertises a Putnam XDR class V hitch for $125 with $25 shipping. Seems like a good deal from my viewing other sites that sell Putnam hitches and am wondering if anyone has had good or bad experiences with Putnam or this hitch. It's supposed to be a "drill less" installation but I've read some where that the spare tire arm had to be adjusted. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks-Bill Nissen

I have a Putnam Class V, I believe it was 15,000 lb. trailer weight. No drilling, took all of 20 minutes to put in, just make sure you have a buddy help you, because it is HEAVY! Towed around about 5,000 lbs. this summer with it, and no problems. It is very stout, though.

I've been looking at the Clas V Putnam hitch too, and had a question for those who have one. Mine doesn't have a hitch, and from looking at trucks that have the OE hitch it seems that I'm just missing the part with the hitch receiver that is welded to a bracket that is bolted to the frame. The bracket bolted to the frame also seems to support the bumper, as it is rated to support a fair load, so if a Putnam hitch is installed does one still have the bumper support ?

I have a Putnam XDR. I have no complaints. Easy install and looks better than the OEM hitch IMO as it fits up closer to the truck (the receiver is still the same height).
