AH! And here-in lies the problem! If you had listed WHERE YOU WERE FROM, it might have helped to know that I wasn't addressing someone from the States! I have NO idea about Canadian stuff as I do not sell/manufacture/repair/retrofit anything that will go there. I have enough trouble keeping the US stuff straight!

This is the trailer set up I had. The backhoe is 9,500lbs. and trailer weight is 4,000lbs. total weight 13,500lbs. I used this set up for the occasional use.

It has the 6,000lb Dexter axles (aka mobile home axles) The brakes are standard trailer brakes. The only differance would be the tires. You need to make sure you have trailer tires rated for the weight.

After saving a few bucks I now have this setup. I haul more often and farther now.

Hope this helps with your thoughts on whether or not to haul it. I would if brakes and tires are rated for the weight.

Sorry, I just read your post again. My truck is an auto (stock) and I just take it easy with a load on her. Sometimes I get on it but it has held up well.

Yeah I hear you and understand that. I never even had heard of this law in Canada until recently when this acquaintaince was fined heavily for it.

Then I think to myself, "oh great, I have one of those trailers too".

I've been told by others that their are some states that restrict their use as well, (I've herad Tennesse for example) but that is strictly hersey on my part. I don't know.
