Has anyone had any experience with using a variable speed drill with a modified sine wave converter? Any problems? Will it run at all? I know most will not run using a square wave but no problems with a pure sine wave.

 

Mexstan, <br><br>I just purchased an XPower Inverter 1000 bu Xantrex at Costco for $70. US. XPower Inverter. (modified sine wave) Also, Kragen, Schucks, Checker had an 800 watt Powermate (Coleman) for the same price on a special. It pays to shop around.

 

Good price! I need at least 1000 watts continuous but there are times I would be using a variable speed drill so am worried that a modified sine wave converter would give me problems.<br>Unfortunately I am forced to do my shopping via the internet. Have found some good prices so far but not as good as you found. Found a 700 watt continous, 1400 watt surge for $76.97 and a 1500 watt continuous, 3000 watt surge for $251. Costco in my area does not carry inverters.

Thanks. Was just looking at the Xpower 1750 with a 1500 watt continuous and a 3000 watt surge for $289.95. This is from DonRowe.com.<br>If you say that Costco has just started to carry these I will check tomorrow at my local Costco just in case. Will stick my tongue firmly in my cheek before I enter.
