overload springs ?

Just purchased a 2005 ctd quad cab HD w/ 8' bed. Want to take 5th wheel hitch from my ford f250 & install in my dodge. been reading the forums about drilling & clamping. would like to go w/ drilling (cost issue), Reese says if I have overload springs need part # 58186. Also a 58166 is mentioned, does this sound correct. How do I know if I have overload springs.
Thanks for any advice

Fill in you signature with your truck specifics (year, 2500 or 3500, 2wd or 4wd, body style, tranny, etc.) and we'll be able to help you better.

3500 is the only one with overloads after 2002, single or dual wheel

No. The only difference between 2500s and 3500s in 2005 were the overload springs. Both had a 11.5 inch ring gear. My 2500 has firestone ride rite airbags. I find them much more useful than overloads.
