Ordered my Brakesmart today....

Well I finally bit the bullet and bought a Brakesmart today. Can't wait to get it of coarse. I also bought a set of Timbren. I just want a little smoother ride while loaded and I think they will do the job. I didn't want to fool with an air system. Truck sits level just wanted to take some of the harshness away.

Right on Spooler. I sure would like one of those, but that'll have to wait a while. Be sure to let us know how the install goes.

Good choice. Once you get it installed you can tell everyone how easy the install is. You wont be dissappointed.

Installation was very easy. Mostly plug and play type deal. I didn't drill a hole in my firewall because I will remove the unit if I sell the truck. I ran the pressure sensor cable through the hood latch gromet. Going to tow with it this weekend and see how it does and adjust if needed.

What type of trailer are you going to pull? Bumper pull, fifth wheel or goose neck.

Where did you get the unit from? I have searched the internet, www.brakesmart.com and www.brakesmart.net. These links don't seem to be part of the brakesmart company site anymore. Did they go out of business and the remaining units are ones still sitting on shelves? These urls look like they are part of a portal linking to other sites rather than the company site.

I remember going to the company site last year before they had their supply problems. Then they seemed to disapear till this post.

I got mine from DR. Performance. It took a little while to get it (1 week) but I waited for 6 months before I pulled the trigger to get one. I pulled with it tonight. IT WAS AWESOME. Best money I ever spent. The Timbrens I just installed were also excellent. They raised my truck up about 1 inch which I needed to level out the trailer. They were also perfect. I drove for about 45 min. and checked tire temp by hand and the front tires of my trailer were the same temp as the back axle. Great!!!!!! The only issue that I didn't like was the truck needs dang shocks ( It was somewhat bouncey ). Looks like I am going to be getting a set of Bilsteins.

I pull a 31 foot box plus GN Exiss LQ 4horse Event XT412 (12 foot Short wall living quarter). Weighed in at the scales it is 17,000 lbs and change GCVW full of fuel and water with no horses or camping junk. It should be right a 23,000 lbs if fully loaded. It's a beast. Should of gotten a 8 ft. short wall.

Don't worry about that trailer, your truck can handle it. And the Bilsteins will help.

Spooler, the reason I asked about the trailer is because if you have a factory trailer towing package you can get a no-splice 7pin wiring kit to move the plug into the bed for about $55 plus shipping.
