OD: on or off ???

I got a 01, 2500 4x4 auto. I always pull with my OD on unless I have a large load ( 11,000 lbs or greater). Is this a mistake ??? ???

Re:OD: on or off ???

I'm geared with 4.10s so I generally run with OD on pulling my fifth. That said, if I'm in the mountains or in an area where the tranny wants to downshift a lot, I'll stay out of OD.

Bill

What Bill1374 said....you do not want your tranny to gear hunt, so if you find your tranny shifting alot, pull it out of OD until your on level ground and can maintain your speed. Other than that, watch your tranny temp and have fun pulling. It's a pulling beast.... 8)
Big dawg
