Boy! Spring selections are all over the board. I have been looking hard at Timbrens. I haven't decided what size yet. I tow a mid profile 5th that weighs right at 10k loaded for the road. I haven't had a chance to check the pin weight but I am guessing around 1800#'s. I use the truck everyday and would like to keep the impact on the ride to a minimum. I'm guessing the truck sags around 2.5 inches when loaded. It is just slightly past level.
Any ideas on what size spring to use?

There are two possibilities for the 2500 according to axel diameter. Basically I ended up with a set that will work on a 3500 also. I opted to leave out the 1/2 inch spaced to allow for some stock ride and even at that they are a little hard on certain bumps. Very pleased with them when the 5r is hooked up. Went from a 4 in drop to about 1.5. They took they sway out of the truck also. I think you will be happy with them. Good Luck.

I ordered a set of Tembrens 6 or 7 months ago. I ordered the ones recommended for my truck. When they arrived they were too long. They touched the axle with no load. (this may be because I have removed the two lift blocks)
Anyway, I did not like the ride when empty, and I drive empty a lot.
I called the Tembren people, and explained the problem. They sent me a shorter set, and they paid shipping both ways. There is now a little over an inch of clearance, and I really am satisfied with them.
They are great people do do business with.

Am in the process of installing Timbren DR3500B kit on my 96 2500HD (2wd). Have owned truck since new and it has seldom hauled anything. When my kit arrived I ran into trouble (the rule not the exception for me on matters such as this). My springs had flattened out to the extent the rubber sat right on the bottom plate empty. I measured the other uninstalled side l I needed laid out on the bench w/ 1" clearance between the rubber and bottom plate and it measured 9". Went back out to the truck and my springs had sagged somewhat apparently as there was only 8" space between and the frame at the center. Called Mich. Truck and they referred me to Timbren in Canada. Spoke to Ed and he was most helpful and said they had shorter rubber blocks w/ same capacity for this problem. Waiting for the blocks as going on trip to Fl. panhandle shortly. Hopefully this will help in hauling my 11' 2700 lb slide-in. Hard for me to understand how my springs could've flattened out mostly just going into town to have coffee at Hardee's. The truck only has 108K miles on it(I drink a lot of coffee plus grandsons in Dallas) Does anyone have an idea as to the (unflattened) distance between the top of the spring to the frame on my truck? Has anyone else had a similar problem? Thanks in advance Joe

i had same problem,springs flattened, to put timbrens in i had to lift truck,truck sits on timbrens just a bit,i also called timbren said they would send new ones out that where shorter but i left the originals in,i run it like this all the time, it's a little harsh empty but i tow/haul all the time so i don't mind the rough ride when empty,after all it's a truck,they sure can handle a load,i am very happy with them..
