Mr Heater...Buddy.??

Ok, it's 50 degrees inside my 5er and I lit my Mr Heater to test it. Anyone have comments or use one while they slept? If so did you wake up in the morning?? The warnings are vague and these are supposed to be useable inside...

from the FAQ on the website.

"If you own a Portable Buddy, you can use it indoors for emergency. The Portable Buddy has a low-oxygen shutoff system that makes it safe for indoor use.

I used mine in my sled trailer with the vents open, and it gave me a head ache. I don't trust anything that doesn't vent exhaust to the outside.

I have one I use in my deer blind. It works great. We take it with us in the 5th wheel when we want to sit outside and it is cold and there is no place for a campfire.

While i might not have an insight into your question , i would tend to think that if someone DID NOT wake up , they probably won't be able to post and tell you that they did not wake up

you could always crack a vent or 2 to eliminate the threat of CO poisoning, anyone know if CO is lighter or heavier than air? if it is heavier, doesnt do any good to open a roof vent, the air will be displaced.

CO = Carbon monoxide? If so it will go to the floor it is a heavy gas at least when compared to that junk we breath. . . .That is where you will find the detectors in your RV's.

Just keep a window or something cracked just a bit and you should be fine. We leave our's on in our shop over night to keep the parts washer from freezing. Keep something cracked for ventilation and you'll be fine.

Hey, if your worried, why not just buy a battery operated CO detector? That way if the CO level goes up, the detector will wake you up.

BTW, I picked up a Mr Heater buddy last week and used it in my boat this past Saturday. Man does that little booger work great.
