Maxbrake question
I got to do my first pull this weekend and all I can say is wow. I only thought my Jordan was the best. For those that have them, what does the top left # represent? I calibrated it per instructions and set my brake in the 50ish range and it read 0 on the trip to the lake. On the way home I noticed it was ranging from 4-8? Does it learn your truck and adjust itself?
And lets talk about customer service. I had a problem with the install last Thursday (9:30pm) and thought I would give the #800 a call. Low and behold a lady answered and said I'll have someone call you back. Within 5 min a guy calls and walks me through it. Very impressive to say the least and he said they answer the phones 24/7. My only complaint is the unit itself is a little big but that is a very minor.
This controller is on my wife's '03.

I've never had a Jordan just the cheap kind before I bought my max brake. I did have to set it twice the first time I used it. Since then it has not needed set at all. Every time I hook the fifth wheel up it is set and ready to go.
Great product.

FYI, I called the company yesterday and the # in the top left bascially represents air in the line. But since its a relatively low amount, it should work itself out but if not, just bleed it at the fitting again...no big deal. IIRC I paid @ $150 for the Jordan and this one was $330 with the DTR discount, well worth the extra $$.

I have an issue on my dad's 05, the connector lines are leaking. I tried calling the 800 and 337 number and both said they were out of service. Also, they won't return emails. This thing has a 5 year warranty and I can't get in touch with them. Can anyone help me?

I just ordered my Maxbrake yesterday from South West Wheel, and I still haven't got it yet!
Didn't know there was a DTR discount. That's pretty cool tho!

Got my Maxbrake 2 days from when I ordered it. Pretty good shipping I'd say!
I haven't tried it with the 48 footer yet, that'll come Tuesday.
The only thing I can see so far that they could improve on is the installation instructions. They leave a lot to interpretation. Altho it is basically common sense, the instructions never tell you to plug in the 4 pin plug that the controller gets power from and sends power to the trailer brakes from. I wasn't sure if I should plug that one in first or the pressure sensor wire. The 4 prong plug is a Tekonsha product too. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but between not mentioning it in the directions and finding a competitors product in the box, it seemed odd until I looked at everything else and thought it thru.
Can't wait to try this thing tho! I've never had any decent brake controller in anything I've owned, even tho I've installed a ton of Prodigy's.
