Maxbrake installed, liking it allot!!!

After having the maxbrake sit on my work bench for the last 3 weeks, I finally installed it and used it for the first time yesterday. It took awhile to install, (but I triple check EVERYTHING) and after some initial fiddling, this thing JUST WORKS!!! I never thought electric brakes could be so linear and smooth. The first few brake applications were slightly jerky, but its as if the things "learns" what it should do. Smooth, even braking after that, EVERY time. I had about 3k in the dump trailer and after unloading(6500 trailer weight), it still braked the same WITHOUT locking the tires(3500 empty). I don't know how they do it.
Very few things get me excited, but a WELL functioning brake controller, melts my butter. I don't work for these guys, so this is not an advertisement, but man, this thing just works.

What did you have to compare it to? I have a Jordan and love it but have always said that when it goes out, I'll replace it with a Maxbrake. Seems like a good product.

it was generic POD controller. The biggest selling factor for me was being able to tow multiple trailers and not have to reset it every time.

I like the idea, but hate the idea of taking apart the brake plumbing and having to bleed everything. Think I will have to stick my old Jordan in the new truck, seemed to always work well.

I was initially apprehensive about taking apart the brake line, but it was SUPER easy, all the parts were there and everything "just worked". You don't have to bleed your whole brake system, just the line that was added up to the sensor and that was easy also. You can get them here.

Good to hear the Maxbrake works well.

I haven't seen many reviews from experienced tow drivers who actually own one.

Of the controllers I've used, this is by far the best. I've been towing since I was 16 (wow thats a long time ago) and this thing is amazing. I'm actually looking forward to towing because it works so well (instead of flat spotting the tires all the time). It should be interesting next winter at -30 C.

I remember when I first used my brakesmart. I was amazed at how smooth it was, and remember thinking to myself that I had no idea electric drums were capable of that kind of smooth, controlled stopping power.

I felt it was too bad that there wasn't a controller that was as smooth and powerful as the brakesmart, but without all the features I don't use and cheaper.

It sounds like the Maxbrake might be exactly that...

Well I was towing 14k yesterday (11 k of dirt in my dump trailer) and the silly thing works regardless of loaded or unloaded. Gravel, no gravel, no wheel lockups, this thing works!!! I'm TRULY impressed!!!

Cool

Glad your install went well. Looks like you had the same reaction as I did after installing mine.
