Lowrance GPS

I've had several Garmin GPS units and they work well, but I've found the streets and highways database to be badly out of date. Recently I was looking at a Lowrance iWAY 600C GPS and was impressed. Has anyone here had experience - good or bad - with these ??

User friendly ?? Ease of operation ?? Clarity and viewable in daylight ?? Up to date database ??

I see that it has Canada maps and U.S. marine charts. Fine, but I travel some in Mexico - mostly Baja - and boat off the coast of B.C., Canada every summer, so I wonder if Canadian marine charts and Mexico maps are available for it.

I'd be very interested in your opinions and experiences. Thanks

Lar.

Well I read that there are only two mapping companies out there that all the GPS companies subscribe to. So switching to another unit may not get you any better maps.
