lower truck or raise 5er?????
Ok I will try to get all the particulars with out making it to long. I have asked this question several places, I apologize just trying to make sure I dont miss something. I have an 08 32ft Wildcat 5er, towed it with my stock truck and I do not exactly remember but it seemed pretty level (5er) when towing. I know that it made my truck look pretty level, from the stock rear high rake when hooked up. It squatted the truck just a little. This winter I leveled the truck in the front and got airbags for the truck assuming towing that I would look like I was sagging bad. I know am towing nose high noticeably. I measured and hooked up there is a 4 inch difference from ground to frame in the front versus the rear of the 5er. I need to change this it hangs low in the rear.
So I lowered my hitch, afraid to lower more because I am about 5 inches from bed to 5er now. My 5er came factory with springs on top so no flip, I moved the springs down in the shackles but put it back because the center mount would not move down. It created some weird spring angles and scared me. I have ran all kinds of different air pressure in the bags and it does not make that much of a difference.
I am thinking of taking the leveling kit out up front and lowering the rear. The other option is to have some one weld on my 5er frame to where all the springs attach and raise it that way.

25lbs in the bags has my axle weights within 200lbs of each other when hooked. I do not think I can change my pin weight any, can I? If I add more air to the bags the 5er gets more nose high.

Why not put a block between the axles and the springs. You'll need longer U bolts, blocks and you might need to lengthen the wires between the brakes and the harness. If you go this route, you need to check the U bolts on a regular basis and use lock nuts.
