I use the XZT tow box from quadzilla 65 hp 165 torc, had it on since my truck was 2 months old, works great, even helped my mileage towing. 06 QC SB 373, auto.

Smarty JR, no doubt. Super low EGTs and plenty of power. You really don't even need gauges, but I recommend them anyway.

I highly suggest Quadzilla's XZT 65HP programable Tow Box and their Commander gauge pack. Easy to install and a real nice unit with the pillar mount.

I have been using the Smarty Jr. on level 1 to tow my horse trailer. The EGT's are about 200 degrees less using the Smarty with more power. It's easy to use and I am very happy with the purchase.

I used the xzt and it was great but it sounds like the smarty junior will give some lower egt's. Then again with my old truck I was making a grand a day so every run was good money so I put the pedal all the way to the floor towing as much as 30k sometimes and never had any issues with the high exhaust tempurtures everyone talks about. Long term I am not sure but black smoke all the time, like I said heavy load pedal to the metal up to 65mph. Once I got the xzt and commander I started thinking about exhaust temps. Out of sight out of mind I guess. Man these 3rd gen ctd rock under a heavy load. I had the truck brand new and wanted to see what it could do so...
