Loading vehical with wheel missing

I am wanting to buy a rolled Explorer for a doaner vehicle for my ranger engine swap project. Here is the problem. The front passenger side wheel assembly broke off in the accident. Any ideas or tips on how to load on a trailer? I have a utility with rails, but I may have access to a car hauler. I know I will need a winch, but how can I "slide" it onto the trailer?

somebody else on another forum said to use the hood, I thought of those wheelie things that are put under wheels to move cars around in garages. maybe plywood on the ramp.

How big of a winch would I need? 2000lbs good enough with a snatchblock?

I've done this before. Kind of dangerous, just have to be careful... I used a floor jack and rolled it up. I had to jack the car up high enough with that ramp taken off, set the car on some blocks on the trailer, then put the jack on the trailer and keep pulling.

You could look at some vehicle rollers at a good auto parts store, the one with the 4 wheels on the bottom, and the holder for the tire.

You can rent a dolly to place under the front and winch up the vehicle. I have even pulled a 3/4 ton suburban (wheel less) with a 12,000 lb warn onto my 20', sided utility trailer. You won't need much encouragement to get it to roll onto your trailer. You may even be able to just slightly pry the one corner up a small amount in order to winch it up. I was able to do the Suburban by myself. Once I cleared the front with the back angle of the trailer, it hit the frame rails and slide on like butter.

My trailer has ramps so maybe just a piece of plywood to slide over on the ramp and deck would be needed. My concern is if I cant find a winch in time. I'd love one on Dodge or my Project ranger but the Winch for jeeps and trucks will cost more than the Explorer i am buying for parts. I have loaded my mustang using a truck to pull it with a towstrap and my truck/trailer jackknifed, but there were more than 2 people involved. One to drive the truck, one to guide the stang and one to check for clearence.

Use the ramps and the plywood. Plywood is going to buckle under the weight if not supported from underneath.

Most come- a-longs aren't rated for enough weight.......they are good to have on hand though.

A 2000lbs winch with a big set of ****** blocks(3 rollers) might work, but just a 2000lbs winch won't do anything but burn up. Good luck.

Done it before, use the hood and put it under the front as a skid it will slide up just dont let the front end poke a hole in the hood use wood blocks and it will winch right up.

I'm not sure what kind of come-a-longs you're used to using, but mine is a 6k on a single strand.
