Larger tires 15 to 16 for 5er

My 5er is 10.5k unloaded and had 225/75/15" D rated and load cap. of 2540 per tire. I just installed 235/85R16 E rated and load cap. of 3042 per tire. How can manufacturer get by with installing a tire set that is overloaded or near overloaded when built? I needed to raise my trailer anyway because my truck with high hitch made the trailer a little off level when towing. Note size difference with tires. Camper photo is with old tires. Fender flares will have to be trimmed slightly.

They all do this . Those 16s make two of the stock 15s . Blow them right to the max of 80 lb. It should solve your tire problem.
They figger your truck is carying 15-1800 lb of trailer wt. So the 15s are LEGAL. Problem is ,towing in the heat, Your truck will do it easy, the trailer 15s get hot and just disintigrate. You got 4 on there blow one and when you stop to change it the 3 left cool and run another day. If you could keep going after 1st tire blows I bet youed blow them all within another 100 miles. They get hot and just go. Keep the air at max 80lb. And remember 80 lb. 80lb 80lb.

You mention cutting the fender ,and looking at picture you need to . Cut the flange off up about 1 inch . them overlap and poprivet back together. That way you still maintain the flange. I'd put some cilicone weld in between the joint to help pop rivets hold and seal it up. ( Cilicone Weld ) in chrome tube, at wally world, hardware dept.

uhm, sorry to go off topic, but how many times have you hit your trailer? it doesn't look like you have any headspace.

bumping my head...

Is this shot any better?

My truck rides slightly higher in the front due to 2" lift kit.
