Laredo SC slide-in on red 3500?

I remember seeing a pic of a Laredo SC Northstar camper on a red 03 2500 or 3500 awhile back. My wife and are are about to purchase the exact same camper and want to ask the owner some questions on the setup.

Such as, any HD springs needed?, are factory shocks enough?and what kind of mileage are you geting?

I believe the picture was taken in a Flying J parking lot if that helps.

Thanks

Ron W.

Re:Laredo SC slide-in on red 3500?

Not specific to your question...but expect any large slide-in to gross out about 2k #'s over what the sticker says. The shocks seem to be fair, with room for improvement. The biggest negative is the rig tends to porpoise on undulating roads. Hellwigs or Airbags or Roadmaster is in the near future.

FWIW...my 11' Caribou is just touching the overloads at rest (3k# sticker = 5k # real life). Get yourself some good tie-downs (tork-lift) and a good rubber mat between bed and camper. The happijac front tiedowns suck. Rears are fine if you have a stout bumper (my '01 does). Use the springloaded turnbuckles (happijac or equivalent)
