Input on Prodigy P3 please.
Of those of you that have a Prodigy P3, how do you like it, and what don't you like about it? Where did you install it? What type of trailer(s) are you pulling with it?
I'm looking at getting one, and would like your inputs and/or suggestions if there is another of equal quality and cost. (No, I'm not spending the money for a hydraulic to electric setup; however, thanks in advance for your suggestion as I'm sure someone will want to post that.)

I've got the original Prodigy. If the P3 is better than the original, its going to be an outstanding controller.
The only thing I pull that uses trailer brakes is my 33' fifth wheel. Its right at 11,000 lbs.
The original is very smooth and easy to get set correctly.
I have mine mounted in front of my right knee, above the gas pedal.

I have a Prodigy right now and am going to upgrade to the P3 soon. I have been very happy with my Prodigy. I don't tow heavy, just a light GN with ATV's and M/C's on it. I don't really need a new one, but I like the looks and new features of the P3. I will keep my current Prodigy as a backup.

I have 2 P-3's they allow you to choose between the electric vs the electric/hydraulic braking systems. the lighting on the controller is adjustable as well, you can choose between colors and intensity..I mounted both of mine in the cubbie's of the dash I like mine in plain sight to watch what it is doing and to make sure it is working prior to dropping over the edge with that 24K in tow..
I bought a factory Dodge to P-3 adapter no splices to worry about..

Brake Controller
Have older Prodigy, LOVE IT Mounted it in cubby below HVAC controls. Drilled a small hole in the back of the cubby to pass the harness thru, fit's snug and can still easily use the lever on the bottom.

Installed P3 in both trucks, 97 CTD and 03 D max. Love them. If you have an old controller that you think is going out, get a P3. it is awesome. smooth stops, great adjustabliity. Neat color screen with helpful options.

This will be my first controller.
Too bad Dodge doesn't sub a factory option like this out to Prodigy. Kind of would be nice to have something that looks like the dash was built around it.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Now, I'll start internet shopping.

I'm glad Dodge does not install a controller as factory units are slow to adapt to new technology IE Elec/Hydr actuators I just wish they left a better choice of mounting options in the dash...just why is it we buy these work horse trucks anyway ..
