Inboard Ride-Rite Air Bags

I am looking for anyone who has done inboard air bags on a 2001 Dodge, 2500, 4x4, SRW. The Ride-Rite kits calls for 7.5” of tire to frame space but I am not close due to my tire/wheel combo. (315-75-16) My thought is to fabricate the mounting hardware and go from axle tube to frame on the diff side rather than the tire side. It seems straight forward....any thoughts?
