I would still want it cooler than that and it really surprises me it got that hot in 4 low . I would have thought about 190 , but if you are getting the heat we are in Ohio lately I guess I can see why .

I was 190 going down the road at 55mph....Only grossed 22K today And yeah, it's hot, but cooler than yesterday

I guess 220 is not that bad with outside temps like that , I didn't see were you are from before , yes in Illinois you are seeing the same heat we are . I was hauling straw last week and I am sure glad it was a few degrees cooler then with 32 , 700 lbs bales and a trailer empty weight of 4000 I was close to the same boat as you .

4lo hurt something? just make sure you have your hubs unlocked.

Last time I checked from 2nd gen up dodges dont have locking hubs. Don't know about the 1st gens.

If I'm not mistaken, the trans will run at full, max line pressure in reverse. Most cars do, So I would think this is the same. thats why the fluid temp goes up in temp, so quick.
