Hay spike

I am looking for ideas on my hay spike. I have one that runs off a winch through a block and back .Looking for a better setup than what i have. If anyone knows someone with a spike on there truck ,I sure would like to see it. Or if you have one in your gallery point me to it. Not having any luck finding ideas. I have a flatbed but any pics of one mounted in a bed would be appreciated.

My brother-in-law has a spike on the back of his Ford that runs with a hydraulic cylinder. The hydraulic pump is driven electrically and the whole setup is mounted on a plate so that it installs and removes as a single unit. The front of the unit attachs to his gooseneck ball. I can try to get some pics this weekend when I'm back in Giddings.

The nicest setup I've seen for a pickup bed is the bale bumpers. It replaces your stock rear bumper, all the hydraulics are under the bed. If you need to use your bed, you can pull a couple of pins and remove the spikes. We currently use one like AggieJustin described. The only problem is with metal, hydraulic cylinders, etc... the thing can get pretty heavy to move by yourself. The drawback to the bale bumpers is the cost. Last time I looked they were in the 3000 dollar range. Good luck.

Yea , I looked at those that attach to the gooseneck ball,Hydraulic kind. Im not wanting to spend that much money . Problem im having is my truck is a cab chassis so it sits kinda high . I have a good idea of what i want to change but was looking for some ideas . I hate welding something up and having to change it again and again.

Thanks
Jeff
