Glad to see this. I had my 8'6" Lance on, loaded and pulling a 21' bass boat from western washington to middle washington, speeds from 55 to 80, pulled the passes at 70-75 just to hear it work a little. Got 12.6 on the way out and 13.1 on the way back. I was running hard, so I figure my mileage was pretty good, considering.

I am certainly a fan of duct-tape.....but....I am looking for a realistic solution to deflecting the wind away from the main body of the camper, as it passes over the top of the cab

Many people quote the weight of a camper or trailer when discussing fuel mileage. The weight is only a significant factor when accelerating or going up hills.. The aerodynamic factor is there all the time at speed. It becomes significant at 41 mph and increases with the square of the speed increase. So, slowing down is by far the best choice when towing or carrying a camper.

I get 12-13 mpg at 55-65 mph with my 3,200 lbs TC. 21 mpg with no load if I keep my foot out of it.

Last summer traveling from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to Bodega Bay in Northern California then back down to Mexico I averaged 14 MPG at 65 MPH. I have no complaints at this MPG considering I use to get 8 MPG in a motorhome doing 50-55 MPH.
