Cool Happy Camping

Well the kids were on spring break last week, so we decided to hook up and go to the lake. This was our first real trip pulling the TT with this truck. I had a smile on my face all the way. My wife got tired of me saying "watch how we pull this hill". Ran 65-70 on freeway and got 12.6 mpg on overhead. It rain like crazy all the way home so we drove a little slower and it read 14 mpg on the way home. Not bad when my old 1/2 ton used to get 7-8 and could barely run speed limit. We started slowing down on one big hill by the lake, then it downshifted and we started picking up speed again. That even surprised me Gotta love those CTDs.

My wife likes camping much better now that we have Moose (she named it). She said that with my bigblock gasser that I was ****** off from the trip for the first day and had a bad temper the last day due to expecting the tow back home (kind of shoots a weekend). She said this alone was worth buying the truck! Now I look forward to the towing part and arrive with a big grin, ready to enjoy the camping!!

ME too! Our first trip was this past weekend with the ctd. Man its nice to just cruise to the camp ground without wearing yourself out driving. Not sure of the fuel mileage yet, don't care. The CTD rocks!
