Getting a new 5th wheel toyhauler

The easiest way to show you this is to post a link from the TDR.

It is a keystone Raptor 36' with 2 slides and a separate garage which is 12' long. This looks heavier than it is, It has a 15,500# GVW but only 11,100 empty. Aluminum framed, nice interior

Thats a nice trailer. I see they are starting to make more car trailers in the "toy box" configuration too. I would like to make my lil 24ft box into a decent living quarter set up. My truck has been broken into twice in the last year on race weekends at motel parking lots. Getting a little tires of having side glass replaced and am lucky they haven't gotten the truck yet. Despite the weight of your new trailer you would be better suited to a dually 3500.

Thats nice. My wife and I have been looking at toy haulers for our ATV trips to Colorado and the Black hills. I had been looking at a Spotrsman that is real comparable to that Raptor. I may have more choises now. I want one around that 34-36 foot range. My neighbor a few blocks down has a 40 foot Sortsman that he never uses. He owns part of a large company here in town and has more money thatn he knows what to do with so I think he bought it just to have it. The only time it moves is when his 8 year old son races local Moto Cross races on his little 80. We wont be able to aford one till my truck is paid for in a few years but I like to look and reserch for a while before buying something. I may have to find a Keystone dealer and go have a look.

Just got my 5th wheel hitch installed today by Pull-rite. Easy to install, has holes in the frame already but had to cut a bit of shee-metal to make it fit.

This is where I had to cut a bit of metal. there is a open box that serves no purpose and it has to be removed to fit the bracket.

Heres a shot of the pins on the super rails. there is a hol in the bed for the pins to click into the bracket but nothing is bolted to the bed. When you take the hitch out, all it leaves is a hole in the bed for a clean look.

This is what I am using in place of a slider hitch. It makes about 10" extension for the pinbox so that should be enough for maneuvering....Saved me about $1000 not getting the automatic slider hitch.

Last 4th of july we camped with some friends in their keystone "tailgater". I think theirs is a 28ft bumper pull version. These rigs are nice, pulled well and slept good too .I have since thought of getting into something like that myself.

I looked at those Raptors hard, myself (neat layout). I also liked the Komfort Karry All (nice quality, with the skybox on top), and some of the K-Z ones. In the end, I decided to start with a used Patio Hauler, that I could write a check for...

Did you get the optional roll out deck thing? How does your rig handle it? Could you post actual front/rear/trailer weights?

Anyhow, have fun with it!

Your post on TDR says you got $16,000 for the Desert Fox. I'm curious how much you paid for it? Did the $16,000 include the Hensley Hitch in the deal?

I'm curious how much these trailers depreciate.
