Anyone running this pump kit? http://www.campingworld.com/browse/s...=26125:src=TSC

Would like to know if it works as good as it says it does? I am thinking about using it to pump my tanks when I go dry camping into a 50gal storage tank in the bed of the truck.

Mine works reasonably well, but has a bad side effect. when using on the black tank it does not pump fast enough in my opinion to rid the tank of all "solids". The ones that do make it out are effectively ground up and sent on down the hose. It is not nearly as fast as they claim at emptying a tank. I used to pump right out of the camper into a 55 gal drum for removal. I have since inherited a 20 gal blue roll around tank that I dump into (about 1/2 the tank at a time) and then use the grinder pump to push it into the 55. This seems to give more "flushing action". I will dump and pump the black first then the galley. When I set at the long term site I generally let the grey water go into a cornfield by good old gravity. I will store a bit of grey on the 2 days before pumping to give me something a bit less odorifous to rinse the tank and pump with.
Over all it is nice to be able to set up in one spot for a month or more without having to hitch up just to go dump.

Clear as ????

You say you have somthing similar. What brand pump kit are you using? Do you have the back flush port?

For the most part I'll be using it for the gray at the state parks. They say the back flush helps with the black tank. Do you use the back flush?

I dont remember the brand of mine but I know that I had to add the connection to fit the camper. Mine may be a flo-jet, just not sure.
I do not have any type of backflush device on my camper. Something about cutting a hole into a tank that does not leak now and putting in a cheesey fitting with a set of dinky screws does not look apealing to me. The grey and black tank are about 8 feet and 3 elbows fron the dump fitting so one of those snap on flushing tools will not be of any value.
If we are at a state park where they frown on any discharges, I run the grey water into a couple of those 7 gal blue jugs that i think target sells. they have a fitting on the top cap that will accept a garden hose fitting. Hook that to a short garden hose with a convience valve in it and hook the hose to a "grey water cap" on the camper and gravity will fill the tote container. No noise no extra wiring and a easy to dump jug that can be dumped in the pit toilet or shower house. 2 of those (14 gal) is enough for all 4 showers ( 2 teenagers who dont know what conservation is). These jugs are held on the last day and as we are dumping on the way out, they are dropped into the stool, effectively giving the black tank a washing.

Any more ????

I've looked at those, but it's more than the recommended 50' max from where I park my 5th wheel to my clean out at my house. Also my batteries are on the opposite side of the rig and enclosed in battery boxes and not easy to get to...

Does anyone know of a similar product that runs on 110AC?

Go to the link above and look down at bottom of the page. The green one runs on water(garden hose) pressure.

I have used my 12v unit many times with a 150 ft garden hose to reach the proper "hole".

This pump thing sounds good, and I'm not trying to bad mouth them, but as stated, I wouldn't think it wouldn't pull fast enough to draw the crap off the bottom of the black tank. Only my 2 cents. I looked at them one time and that was my first though.

I use the old 25gal. blue tank on wheels and make 2 trips each time, I also hate having to hook-up to dump. It's become a guy thing, sometimes I'll be there with a friend or my brother and we'll have a few and make the potty run.

My 5er came with a black tank flush. Once you empty black tank, you simply hook up garden hose and it's done. It does a good job cleaning any paper of the electrical censor contacts in the tank. Also none of that yelling to the bride to flush the toilet, (fill it up and give it another, are you ready yet, did you fill it to the top) you know how that goes.

Well guess I will be able to give a report on this pump some time in the next couple of months. The wife just ordered it today. Camping World had an internet sale $209.99 and $1.00 shipping.

I just looked at Camping World but could not find the one I have, but they carry it. It is called Sewer Solution. It runs about $120 with a total of 20' of hose. It uses no electric, rather uses a water jet to break up solids and pump it down a 1-1/4" hose. It will pump uphill about 2' at 20' long. You can run over the hose with no damage and it stores in less space than a 50' garder nose. It flushes and cleans itself. I love it. I have had mine about 3 years. It has two adapters for 4" or 3" holes.

Here's a like to the sewer solution one. That's the garden hose powered job that was at the bottom of the page electrifried was talking about.

It sure looks slick and has good reviews.
