I have a B&W hitch and purchased it installed for $500. I absolutely love it because it is out of the way when it's not in use. I haven't heard any complaints about it from my friends that also have this hitch.

I have the B+W hitch but right now the disconnect latch will not hold and it is a real pain to flip with one person . I have not looked at it ,and it could be real simple to fix just need to take the time . Another complaint would be very thin paint on whole unit I would not give the springs a long life if you do not coat them before install . If you have the plastic wheel linears you will need to do some changes to unit .

Yeah, I have the wheel liners. I just cut a hole. With the shape of the liner, and keeping the hole small, I don't really have any problems with gunk getting inside.

Come to think of it, the paint on mine was a bit thin, too. The companion appears to be powder coated.

it sit's ahead of the axle even on the short bed's, which is optimal for towing. Work with your trailer not against it, just slow down and take a little more time turning and backing up.

The paint on mine looked like it was powder coated but I still sanded it really good and painted all of the parts that showed semi-gloss black. Looks really good and you kind of need to take a second glance to see that I have a B&W. They should offer it with black paint as an option!

Another recommendation: Re-torque all of the bolts after you have pulled with it a few times.
