Fifth Wheel Travel Trailers
This year I plan to upgrade from my Artic Fox slide in camper to a fifth wheel travel trailer. I have looked at many models and have pretty much settle on a Keystone Cougar or the Montana. I like the rear kitchen models but I have heard lots of horror stories associated with the rear kitchen models because of the spring bounce experienced in the rear of fifth wheelers. I would appreciate any inputs or recommendations from you guys with rear kitchen models or rear living models.

I would want Morryde RE or something better than just spring/equalizers for a RK RV. I've read the Dexter ez flex and the similar Trailerair equalizer replacement gadget improve the ride a lot and both are cheap DIY mods. My RL 5er would bounce the rear recliners and even the sofa in the slide around til I did something about it. I went with different (longer and more arch) springs. It would have trashed an RK! Craig

Some rear kitchens seem to have that problem, and some don't.
My GF's parents have a big Forest River, and things seem to stay put fine.
I think they put that rubber traction stuff in most of the cabinets, though, which is a good idea in any RV.

We owned a rear kitchen 32' 5th wheel before the one we have now. We never had an issue with things getting moved around while traveling. We use to leave the coffee pot on the kitchen counter and it never moved.

I looked at the rear kitchens when we were switching from MH to fiver. I have two friends that had rear kitchens and they warned me to stay away from them. So, I did. I must say, I can't imagine not having that huge picture window across the rear with two swivel recliners that turn around and I can sit and drink coffee and stare at the scenery out the back.
I heartily second the statement about MORryde suspension. I put the IS (independent) on mine after owning it a while. Wow, what a difference in ride both in the truck and the contents conditions after a days trip.
