The automatic slider is really nice. I know guys with the manual and they only use it as a last resort and you will hear the stories about cap hitting the cab and popping the rear window.

I have the extended pin which means I can almost back up to a 90degree angle however this puts a great deal of stress when making such a sharp turn on the trailer tires. Avoid such angles when possible.

I believe and this is just MHO that if you very careful you could live without the extended pin box. However before I purchased the supeglide you want to make sure you could add an extended pin if necessary. A question that needs to be answered is just how much of an angle could you turn without the extended pin and still not hit the cab.

Hey, I was just looking for that diagram!

I wish I had a side shot picture to see really where my cap lands to the axle.

If you had a longbed you wouldn't have to worry about a slider http://www.megacablongbed.com/ .

another way togo but more expensive to to convert to a 8 foot bed. i had my truck done at north central frame and aliagment in waco tx. they have a we bsit (www.megacablongbedconverisions.com) the price is about 6,000 but your truck will look great. kadale sugg is the owner and his work is really top notch and he warrarties it. the work looks like factory. the truck will still out turn a ford with 172 base the megacab converted is 180.

JustPlaneKrazy,
What rail kit do you have, how long did it take to install, how heavy is your hitch? I am thinking that the superglide is maybe the way to go. I know a guy who just pop out his window and he has a slider? Towing now 5er and turned to sharp in a parking lot.

I have the superrail kit. Me and my son installed the complete hitch in about 6hours on a Saturday drinking a few brewski's. Very easy to do. Just take your time marking everything out. We also installed a 7 pin plug in the back left corner of my truck for the wires at the same time.
Sorry i'm not sure on the weight, I guess around 200lbs??. I did'nt care what it weighed I just wanted the auto slide.
Here's the way I see it..... there's enough to worry about pulling a 40' trailer behind you that's a family RV and you always want it to look new. I didn't need the worry for a few extra bucks.

Tank146, Which hitch setup are you going with. I'm running into the same problem here. I'm looking into a Valley hitch.
