I used the stainless steel, they have worked well for the inside wheels. I have Goodyears, they rotate for free. They lost the rubber seal to one, so I had to replace them after 5 years. Not a bad record.
AT Tires wear more rapildly than road tires, so I am trying rotation at 6-8k.
Seems like a good idea, we will see. It is a PITA, for sure.
The stailess are about $35 at Camping World or other RV stores.

After reading this thread I bought a pair of Phoenix USA AP4 for the inner wheels on a dually. Tried to put them on today. They are terrible. Barely long enough with silly little wire to keep them in place. Don't waste your money on this style.

Thanks for the tip. i've purchased four different kits to make it easier to air the rears up and down at the dunes and have returned every one of them. i'm still looking for the right setup.

I use the braided hose type but only to put air in the inner rear tire. To get my hand in there I do have to pull the chrome cover. I have a gauge the is straight on the end so I don't need the extension when checking air pressure.
I have had the braided extensions come apart from snow and ice a deflate the inner tire instantly.
