Dually max towing weight
Thinking about buying a 32 enclosed trailer, tag a long i think gwvr is 20,000lb Trailer has triple axel's most the weight will be on the axels combined weight i will be hauling will be no more than 4500lb, 2050lb drag car, quad, coolers oil and fuel. Should my 04' 3500 dually pull and stop this trailer no problem?

I don't get it.
If Ma & Pa Kettle can drive around in a converted Greyhound bus dragging a 40 foot trailer filled with all their meds and cases of depends with a class E license.
Why would a guy pulling a large camper behind his PERSONAL, not for hire, non commercial truck, need a CDL?

Unfortunately RV's are exempted from most upgrade driving license requirements in many states.
I had by 05' 3500 dually w/Cummins and 6spd. I hauled either my enclosed tri-axle (heavy) or my 25' flatdeck, and was a full 20K. She pulled it fine, but I was much happier when I installed the PRXB PAC exhaust brake as she stopped a lot better.

Yeah , a race car could be considered commercial but let's not get a 5 page can of worms going on that and just tell him , yeah you can pull it . However , he is way over on the factory tow rating which is 16,000 with a gooseneck , less with a bumper pull. That's a lot of weight for a bumper pull .

The factory hitch has max weights listed in the owners manual. I forget the number, but it is no where near 20K. IIRC, the max is 12.5K with a WD set up.
If you're going to tow that as a tag, you need to upgrade the factory hitch to a 2.5" class V.
