Where these the old style? I got about 36,000 mi out of them. The new style are wearing much better. So far about 8,000 mi and I can't see any wear. I really love them. If you want an AT type get the Cooper ATR's, They wear great and still do a great job in snow. I don't get them in the mud much. I always got 50-60,000mi out of the old Cooper AT's. The ATR's look like they will do that well or better.

I looked into the Cooper ATRs and they are $189 mounted and ballenced. They are not quite the look I was after but I think thats the rout Ime going. With the price of everything these days I am gona have to start beeing a little more conservative on how I spend my money. I need the tires to last as long as posible and if I can get the 50K out of them people in this thread and anouther one on this site claim to, I had better go that rout. I found it interesting that if I put the stock size tire on the load rating was around 2600# but for the 285 (what ime getting) it was around 3200#.

I had the Cooper ST in 315/75/16 on my 98, got 45k out of them, they were the best tire in snow and mud I have ever used. And minimal noise on road too!. I think they still make them. These are the ST not the new STT.
The Procomps I have now are ok, but when they toast, I will get a set of Cooper ST's for the 05.

I wasn't aware of an old/new style. The ones I'm refering to were brand new (Summer 06) on an '89 Chevy crew cab dually that only gets driven in a resricted compound area...that truck probably has never even seen 40mph anyway, this summer they were down to about 6/32nds. Now I don't know if the tires were already a couple years old and may have been sitting at Vehicle MX for a couple years before they put 'em on the truck.

is the new style STT. The old style looked jut like the BFG Mud Terrains. No Sidewall siping. As you can see by my sig, I love Cooper tires. I have been running them for about 15 years now. I have ventured off and tried other brands occasionally, but I always come back due to, price, wear and performance.

Well I got the new Cooper ATRs on tonight. 285-70-17's Ran me rite around $830 mounted and ballenced. Only have abought 20 miles on them so I have no idea how Ime gona like them. Like I said earlier they are not quite the look I was after but they should perform well so I guess its a trade off of function VS cosmetics. I am at work long before the sun even thinks of coming up and dont leave till after it is gone down so I wont be able to get pics till this weekend whe I get to see it in the daylight.

I put about 30,000 miles on cooper s/t's on my old dodge 1/2 ton, with about 1/2 tread remaining, huge gouges out of the sidewalls on 2 tires, great in the snow and mud. The pile i currently drive has about 40,000 on the cooper s/t's, though never rotated so thats not a good assesment. My family has had great luck with the cooper truck tire.
